Series 27: General Ledger

Taken from our Series 27 Online Guide

General Ledger

The SEC requires securities firms to keep a general ledger that reflects all of the firm’s assets and liabilities, income and expenses, and capital accounts. In addition, it requires subsidiary ledgers for these specific accounts.

General ledgers should be posted as frequently as activity warrants but not less than monthly.
