Initial Margin

FINRA has two things to say about initial margin requirements. First, whenever FINRA’s maintenance margin is higher than the initial margin requirement in Regulation T, then the FINRA maintenance margin requirement will become the initial margin established for that security. Second, FINRA establishes a floor for all margin accounts, requiring that they maintain sufficient funds to meet or exceed the floor at all times.

When I first signed up for the SIE I was overwhelmed. The topic range was so broad. I began studying the study guide and listened to the audiobook. I also watched the video lectures.
