Series 27: Introducing Brokers: Omnibus

Taken from our Series 27 Online Guide

Introducing Brokers: Omnibus

In an omnibus arrangement, the introducing broker remains legally responsible for books and records, custody of securities, clearing, and capital requirements, even though the clearing firm is actually performing many of these functions. These introducing brokers must maintain $250,000 in net capital, the same as if it were a carrying broker-dealer.
