3.6. Education Savings Plans

There are several tax-advantaged accounts that can help adults save for the education of a minor. The most common are 529 college savings plans, Coverdell education savings accounts, UGMA/UTMA accounts, and education savings bond programs. ABLE accounts, described in Chapter 5, can also be used to help a disabled minor fund an education.
