4.4.1.2.3. Options Accounts

An options account permits a customer to trade options. A customer opening an options account must sign an options agreement prior to trading. Options accounts may allow options transactions at one of five trading levels, depending on the investor’s trading experience.

Investors must purchase options within a margin account. They are required to deposit at least $2,000 in cash or securities prior to engaging in any options trading activity. Additional margin may be required, depending on the type of options transaction. W
