2.6.1. Information to Be Reported
The information that must be submitted in a transaction report includes the following:
•Symbol of the security
•Number of shares or bonds
•Price of the transaction (excluding the commission or markup/markdown)
•A symbol indicating whether the transaction is a buy, sell, or cross, and if applicable, short sell
•The time of the execution, expressed in hours, minutes, and seconds based on Eastern Time and in military format (unless a different time is required by FINRA rules)
Additional information may be required as well, but transaction reports consistently include the five components listed above.
While both parties to the transaction must submit reports, only one party is assigned the specific reporting responsibilities for standard trades. See the following table for further details.
