Expungement Prohibited Practices

In the past, firms would agree to settle a dispute if customers would agree in turn not to contest expungement relief. Firms would compensate a customer for some violation and then ask a court to expunge the violation from their record without customer opposition. Today, FINRA strictly prohibits this practice.
