1.1.4.2.  Articles of Organization

Starting an LLC requires filing articles of organization with the secretary of state of any state in which they operate, and paying a small annual fee. The articles of organization must identify the name of the LLC and the street address of its main office. In addition, the names and addresses of the following people must be identified:

its initial members

its managers, if managed by non-members

its registered agent, designated to receive the firm’s legal papers
