7.2.4.5.5. License and Jurisdictional Retention

A registered person’s license remains valid for two years after leaving the industry. Individuals who return after two years must requalify by passing the appropriate exam.

Similarly, when a registered person leaves the securities industry, FINRA retains jurisdiction over that person for two years.
