Treasury Notes

Treasury notes, or T-notes, are the Treasury’s medium-term securities. T-notes are offered with terms of 2, 3, 5, 7, and 10 years; they pay interest every 6 months and are redeemed for face value at maturity. The rate on the 10-year T-note is frequently used as a benchmark rate.
