The length of the due diligence period varies depending on the characteristics of the target and the pool of buyers, but is usually a month or more. After a sufficient amount of time has elapsed to allow prospective buyers to complete due diligence, perform necessary analyses, secure financing, and otherwise consult internally and with outside advisors, the final round begins.
