Series 99: 2.1.3.1.5 Securities Not Eligible For TRACE

Taken from our Series 99 Top-off Online Guide

2.1.3.1.5  Securities Not Eligible for TRACE

Debt securities that are not eligible for TRACE include municipal bonds, asset-backed debt securities, and money market debt securities. Exchange-listed debt securities traded on and reported to an exchange also do not have to be reported to TRACE; nor do transactions resulting from the exercise or settlement of an option.

For municipal bonds trading in the secondary market, once a trade is completed, the broker or dealer on either end of the transaction has 15 minutes to report it to the MSRB’s automated matching and reporting system. Interdealer trades must be reported to the MSRB’s Real-Time Transaction Reporting System (RTRS).
