2.9.  Types of Unsecured Bonds

Most corporate bonds are unsecured, rather than secured. This means that they are secured only by a corporation’s promise to make the payment, rather than a specific physical or financial asset. Unsecured corporate bonds are called debentures. They vary in their riskiness.
