If a customer deposits cash or cash dividends into a margin account the debit balance is reduced by that amount and the equity increased by that same amount. The SMA also increases dollar for dollar by the amount entered.

I wanted to let you know I passed the exam [Series 24] this morning! The practice exams were invaluable. Thank you for your extra help and suggestions.
