Outside Business Activities

Under FINRA rules, an agent who wishes to engage in outside business activities (activities that are outside of their employment with their broker-dealer) for compensation must give prior written notice to the member broker-dealer. The broker-dealer must review the notice and give an evaluation of the activity, imposing limitations or prohibiting the activity if necessary.
