Other Revenue Sources

Sometimes a large municipality offers a sales or income tax. User fees, such as parking permits and marriage licenses, as well as fines for traffic and code violations, add non-tax revenue to a municipality’s income. Revenue from such taxes and fees may also be used to back general obligation bonds.
