Convertible Securities

Convertible securities may be issued in bonds or preferred stock. A convertible bond, for example, is generally a long-term security that may be converted at the option of the bondholder into the issuer’s shares of common stock at some fixed conversion ratio and at designated time(s) during its life. Because they are convertible, t
