Series 24: Corporate Accounts

Corporate Accounts

Corporations may open accounts at a member firm, but to do so they must provide the broker-dealer with a copy of the corporate charter as well as a corporate resolution. A corporate resolution is a document that gives written authorization to open the account and names the corporate employees that will have trading authority in the account. The corporation is the customer, not the authorized employee.
