Series 79: Club Bid

Taken from our FINRA Investment Banking Exam

Definition of the term Club Bid...

an attempt by several buyers to acquire a target by pooling their resources. Depending on the circumstances, this could place either upward or downward pressure on the purchase price. Therefore, the seller often seeks control over whether there are such bids, for example through clauses in confidentiality agreements signed by prospective buyers.
