7.3.2.4. Investment of Customer Funds

FCMs may hold customer funds in cash or they may invest those funds in certain approved instruments. These include U.S. government securities, municipal securities, certificates of deposit, commercial paper, and corporate bonds that are chartered or guaranteed by the U.S. government.

Each FCM or derivatives clearing organization that invests customer funds must keep a record showing the following:

  • The date the investments were made
