Definition of the term Limited Auction...

an M&A process in which a limited group of buyers (often 5-20) are invited to bid on the target. It makes confidentiality harder to maintain than a negotiated sale or targeted solicitation, but may result in a higher price. Compare to negotiated sale, targeted solicitation, and broad auction.
