Definition of the term Targeted Solicitation...

an M&A process in which the sell-side adviser contacts a relatively small group of buyers, typically five or fewer. Its advantages include confidentiality and potentially a faster sale process, but may not provide the seller with the highest price. Compare to negotiated sale, limited auction, and broad auction.
