Karen, a very large thanks for greatly aiding me and a SUCCESSFUL Series 65 exam (passed on 1st attempt) this past Wednesday. I did not even use the materials to the full extent (shame on me) due to the tedium of this exam. It was painful to study for but I am convinced that your materials (book, audio book, and online simulators) are the best in the business. I found Solomon after failing Series 79 with STC materials. I had been getting high 80s/low 90s on the STC practice tests and had taken nearly all of them, so I had no reason to think I would not pass, and was pretty devastated when I did. Solomon’s Exam Simulator problems (with accompanying section & valuation summaries) were much more similar to the actual exam questions. This was especially true in the area of valuation – I literally learned things from just the Solomon valuation summary that I’d never learned from all of the STC materials. perhaps best of all, Solomon practice test questions were dead-on. And the support Solomon provides is amazing – each time I asked the professor a question I got a reply within a day, usually sooner. This was really helpful with those nit-picky details that often get tested. I can’t say enough good things about Solomon, and plan to use them for other exams I still need to take.

I took the exam three days after we spoke. I had to drive 75 miles to the test center. I finished the exam in a little under two hours and did not want to second guess myself in changing any of my answers. Upon completion of the exam, and subsequent grading I saw a 65 on the screen and I couldn't believe I did so poorly. However, the 65 I saw stood for the Series 65 not my grade and several lines below was my grade which was an 87. Thus I passed with a minimum amount of study looking over your online exam simulator. The questions were very similar to your review questions and I am sure that a candidate who reviews your questions and understands the application will have no problem passing the exam. The 79 test was brutal. I went in feeling really confident. I was scoring 80% on portions of your exam simulator tests, and reread all of the materials and your study guide 3 times before I went in. I had also printed all of the questions I had missed in practice, and reviewed those in the parking lot before I went in. However, I had no idea what the answer was on the first 10 questions on the exam, and that really got me stressed! Just as I moved on to a few questions that were more familiar, construction activity began immediately outside the wall I was sitting at, and continued for 2 hours. The headsets I was wearing seemed to amplify whatever harmonics were coming off of the machinery, so when I pulled them off, it actually worked better. Also the monitor was poor resolution and old, which made it more difficult to focus. 2.5 hours in I had a splitting headache, and was certain I would not complete the exam and/or would get less than ½ right. The construction finally let up, and I blazed through the rest of the exam and had 45 minutes to go back through my marked answers. At least half were marked, and I got through about 2/3’s of those before time ran out. The 2 minutes it took to compute my score seemed like an eternity. I was figuring I did reasonably well on Collection/Analysis and M&A since I do that for a living and was very comfortable with the subject matter, and completely bombed the underwriting and regs. My score (miraculously) was an 80%. Your exam simulator and study notes for the Series 79 were great. They gave me the spot-on practice I needed to prepare for the exam. Even more impressive was your team’s extraordinary support and responsiveness as I prepared for this difficult exam. In the final days ahead of the test, you immediately addressed questions and concerns, and gave me the confidence and focus I needed to pass the exam on the first try.

The Solomon Exam Prep online exams solidified the material in my mind and allowed me to use the timer to think quickly. Although the Series 65 exam is not a race, time is a key factor. I finished the test in about and hour and 10 minutes and then spent 20 minutes going back to review the questions I marked, a couple of which I had to use logic to guess what the terms meant (always dangerous to use logic when it comes to this stuff). After completing I pressed the button to submit it for grading and the whole while my heart was pounding as I thought for sure I failed due to the length of time it took to grade (I am certain the computer was laughing at my getting so many ridiculous questions on one test). Lo and behold when the screen returned I got an 82 and I don't think that I could have done it with out your book and your online tests to hammer the info in to my head. At 45 years of age having been removed from college for to many years it was quite an arduous task especially with out a class and about 2 months to prepare part time on my own.
